BBC Radio 1 is aiming their shows at mainly the younger audience so they can keep up with new trends. Their aim audience is 15-29 years of age, however the age range can expand to 15-40. Statistics say that more females are the listeners of the show than males. That is because of the genre music that is played in that time frame (pop), stereo typically boys aren't the ones that listen to that genre. The audience listening to the breakfast show would have to be fans of pop music and interested in taking part in competitions and updating on celebrities feeds.
BBC came out with statistics that the listeners of the show are teenagers due to the timing of the show and the phone ins for the game contests.

The main content of BBC Radio 1 is all about playing top chart songs and have a discussion over it with the audience or other presenters. This means that most of the shows on Radio 1 have got to give a positive atmosphere and good vibes, radio 1 is where people go to to take their minds off their day or start their day. In this case The Breakfast Show shows exactly that, the time from 6:30-10am is a time where Nick entertains the audience. They do this by making games, competitions, twitter hashtags, facebook votes. They also have interviews live with celebrities where they talk about exclusive news about the music, film, tv industry. There's discussions about current affairs and gossip, that time is well organised to keep the audience listening.
The show has the news and the weather on twice/three time so people are very likely to hear it that in between 7am and 8-9am when people are on the road. they have a slot where they play the contest and people are joining in 9-10am, that is the time most people are up and a\re listing to the show.

At the moment the currant social media trends are Twitter and Facebook because it is the easiest way to communicate with people online.
It’s the quickest way to reach out to a certain audience, that can be done through a hashtag, facebook post or tweet.
Radio shows use it mainly to get people to respond about songs, give suggestions or play games.

Music
|
Radio Shows tend to play what is the best out there on the market considering their genre and audience. E.G. Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1 will play top chart songs by well known artists. That is known as the highest demand for radio shows, however, there are also many shows that play classical, 70s/80s/90s music which is intended for different genres.
Radio DJs tend to play songs which are highly requested on Apple music, Spotify, Top Charts, YouTube.

Game content
|
The best trend which most radio shows use is the phone game contest. All that includes is a question about a song, lyric, artist and the caller needs to answer the correct choice give by the presenter. The callers are very likely to win a music related prize or a holiday.

|
Keeping up with currant trends on the news can either be gossip news on a radio show or worldwide news.
Worldwide news is simply just keeping track of the news updates of the world, e.g. bbc news, itv news, newspapers, online news and presenting that to the public. Radios are also allowed to present live news which are currently happening.
Gossip news is known for mainly magazine news updates, twitter and facebook. Usually that includes all the currant trends with celebrities and new music which is out.

P4:
- setting up appropriate equipment
Tripod:
Tripod was set up by starting from the bottom, working our way up. Pulling out each leg one by one making sure they are the same length so the tripod is standing up straight. Then we checked each part was locked in place so that they do not slide or move when the camera is placed on top, We took the top part of the tripod out and placing it on the camera,We placed it back in with the camera and adjusted where we wanted the camera to face,
Sound Boom microphone:
Taking the stick with the stand for the microphone and sliding the microphone through the elastic holes we placed the foam for the microphone on top to cover it. Secondly we extended the stick to the correct length needed, we wrapped the cable around the stick so there is not any wires sticking out making the job easier for the sound person. Then we plugged the the wire from the microphone in the sound recorder (either in the left or right plug) and putting headphones in the recorder so the sound person can hear the dialogue clearly.
- following running order and content plan
As a team we followed the running order pretty well because we booked the rooms on the dates we had planned on. It did not take us long to record which was unexpected, that gave us more time to finish the editing. The content plan was followed a little bit but not to the exact second or minute because we had to change so parts when we were recording.
- following safe working practices
Following the safe working was taking frequent screen breaks and sit comfortably around when editing. We made sure we were not too close to the screen.
- following production processes
We tried to follow the production process as much as we can, following dates and the script. However, when it came to recording there was a few bits that had to be changed so that affected how long the recording would take. Once we knew what that everyone was happy with the script we started recording we ended up finishing really quickly, that gave us an extra tso lessons to edit, put in the music and voice overs.
Overall there wasn't any extra recording that had to be done apart from the part which we forgot to do and that took about 10 extra min to record. the editing and recording was done over a week and the finishing touches were done in the second week which we were given.
