Risk and Hazard and Solutions
Each equipment was taken and carried in individual case/bag so that if it rains every equipment was protected. We followed the BECTU sheet which said ''equipment must safe, suitable, well maintained, thoroughly inspected after transport/installation'' to insure that everything was carried and put together safely.
''Cables must be safely routed or covered to prevent trips or falls and protect their integrity and insulation.'' for any cables that were hanging from the microphones. We wrapped the cable around the stick of the sound so the ''cable runs should be kept as short as possible.''

Copyright and Violence
There is no offensive language in our radio drama so we didn't have to worry about it. We also made sure that the music we used was not copyright.

Legal and Ethical issues resolved/Contingency Plan
Ethical Issues
In our radio drama we had boys and girls for our characters and we made sure to have at least two girls in it so the genders were equal. We made sure that there was not anything that would effect our audience in a negative or offensive way. Also we did not want our audience to think that there are certain decisions to be made or an argument/opinion to lead one way overweighing the other side. The good and the bad was clearly shown and the audience can decide for themselves what side they are on in the story. In our script we did not talk about any companies that own Copy Right.
Contingency Plan
If any actors were ill we made sure that there we had back up people from our class that were happy to take over. We also booked 3 different days and times where we can record incase anything happened with the rooms. The equipment was booked for the 3 times were recorded as well.

Pre Production Process
As a group we started with thinking about the idea of the radio drama and the topic was Sci-Fi. We then discussed all the key characters we needed for the script which which at the start included 1 female character. Individually we wrote single scripts that are 3-5 minutes long and each script had their own twist to the story. Then we pitched the ideas to the whole class to be able to pick one script to produce. In our case we chose Connie's script The Secret.
There were 5 characters in our group so each one of us had to read out line and see what character suited them the best.
Booking the rooms and equipment we tried to go as soon as possible so we had enough time to re-take any bad audio. We also booked the same room throughout the week so we can record as many times as possible.
Production Process
When we turned up to the room the 1st time we read through the script and recorded some line however we were not happy with how the script was and some lines did not work for the characters. So we decided to edit the script and go to our second slot we booked for more takes.
The second time we recored the radio drama sounded much better and we really liked how all the lines turned out.
One of our group members was responsible for the sound effects so the whole group had them. When they gathered the sound they sent it to the rest of the group.
Post Production Process
The editing was the last thing we had to do. We were very happy with all of the lines that we recorded apart from a few that we decided to record again. There was a free room we went into, we booked microphones and recored everything we need.
When we edited the rest of the recording the whole radio drama was put together.
Safe working practices
As a group we all had the responsibility to make sure all the equipment travelled safely from one location to the other. We did this by having the producer taking the microphones in the cases/ bag it comes in. When we set up the microphones we made sure any wires sticking out were put away so no one would trip up. When were began editing this what we had to
Screen breaks: Make sure that you
take frequent short breaks they should be 5-10 min every 50 min – 60 min and
for a keyboard break 1min every 2 hours. Following the BECTU sheet "unrealistic deadlines, excessive workloads or working hours"
Correct screen height and distance: Centre your monitor so it is directly in front
of you and not off centre (left or right)
Audio: When editing we had the sound levels up to 50-60% so that we don't get a hearing problem.

P5) AUDIO RADIO DRAMA THE SECRET
Homework:
What do you learn about the production process used on the film?
Directors find it best to work with shorter scenes because they get the story straight to the point and it connects best with the audience. Production is all about listen to the directors because they know they need only important key scenes. They also manage staging scenes the way no other movie would think of, having unique ideas that the audience would remember. Everything needs to be put into consideration and every outcome that might come up needs to be though of so the movie is well produced.
What do you learn about what makes a good character?
Having strong powerful characters makes the story believable and audience can relate to their emotions.
A good character is the one that the audience loves or hates that way it keeps them interested and wants to see more. Showing how one character is attached and has emotions about another character comes across as a powerful story line because its passionate. When the audience is put on edge for example: characters sent to their death and/or when they escape a difficult situation, that is when the audience is attached to a good character. Being torn between two important people/object is also another way of how the audience can get attached to a character because they love the conflict. Making scenes as hard as possible for the characters is the best way to show how they deal with situation and how they become the hero in the story which is another way of making the characters powerful.
What do you learn about how to create good story?
Always try to make the audience care or have passion for the story tat way they get excited and become hocked to the story. Showing what the character wants is better than telling. However the scenes shown must be important enough to be in the movie, the sequence of it could be short, long, short scene to keep the audience interested enough. Having serous as well as some calm, fun and relaxed scenes is a great way to create a good story. The most interesting stories are the ones where the main character not being able to get what the want which leads back to the audience caring and being passionate for both the character and the story.
That is also related to chase scenes backwards and forwards between characters, switching of control keeps us engaged. There should also be enough details when a characters dies or get hurt so we are able to feel their pain or put ourselves in their shoes. Whatever the character wants has been taken away from them half way through the move and the main character has to make a decision, that is an example from Raiders of the lost ark and the reason to why it is such a good production.
What lessons can you take from the podcast and the film that you can apply to your radio drama?
Take every scene into consideration if it fits in the story and if it makes the story flow forward. Make sure every character is though about what the personality is and mainly what they want to get from the plot as well as plot twists. Scenes should be short, long, short so the audience does not get bored and is engaged in the the main character and story.

Good effort on the homework, hope it was useful.
